Robert Hausam, MD, MS
James Hellewell, MD, MS
Stan Huff, MD

Seven of the nine physicians are alumni of the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Utah. Drs. Huff, Gundlapalli and Hellewell are faculty members in the Department.

Clinical informatics is the application of informatics and information technology to the delivery of healthcare services, and addresses topics ranging from clinical decision support to system design, implementation and adoption. The American Medical Informatics Association spearheaded the new subspecialty which was approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties in 2011. Physicians in all 24 subspecialties are eligible for board certification in Clinical Informatics through an exam administered by the American Board of Preventive Medicine and offered to pathologists through the American Board of Pathology. A total of 455 physicians nationwide were notified of their certification last December.
