Note:
Intermountain will be providing a shuttle service from the University to Intermountain Medical Center. The shuttles will arrive at HSEB at 3:00 pm and depart at 3:20 pm. We will meet at the round tables in the BMI suite and walk down to the shuttles together at 3:00 pm. We will depart from IMC at 5:15 PM to come back to HSEB.
Abstract
Intermountain Healthcare is an integrated healthcare provider operating primarily in the state of Utah. It has a long history of supporting research in Biomedical Informatics and in leveraging this research to develop software systems that participated daily in patient care. It is currently embarked on the development of a next-generation infrastructure to deliver computer-supported clinical care. This presentation will introduce Intermountain and the Homer Warner Center for Informatics Research located there.
Bio
Dr. Peter Haug received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin Medical School and trained in Internal Medicine at LDS Hospital and the University of Utah. He received Fellowship training in Biomedical Informatics at the University of Utah. He currently functions as Director of the Homer Warner Center for Informatics Research at Intermountain Healthcare and as a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Utah. His active research interests include natural language processing, sharable approaches to representing decision support logic, models of disease capable of informing clinical care, and secondary uses of data collected in the course of care.
