Shan He - Congratulations! First Orthner Travel Assistance Award Recipient
PhD Graduate Student, Shan He, was selected as the recipient of the first Orthner Travel Assistance Award in the amount of $4,000. This award was made possible by Ms. Carolyn Orthner in honor of her beloved husband, Dr. Helmuth F. Orthner, PhD, FACMI, who passed away in March 2009. The purpose of the award is to provide support to a worthy International Biomedical Informatics student who has been accepted to present at a meeting, or has been invited to participate at a meeting or other scholarly activity. Shan had also been granted a Baden-Wurttemberg Stipendium to study in Germany and will return to Salt Lake City in late Spring 2012.
