Dr. Younghee Lee Awarded Several Grants

Congratulations to Dr. Younghee Lee, an Assistant Professor in our department who has received several new grants.

As PI, Dr. Lee received two Global Industry-Academia Joint Research Cooperation Projects from Incheon Techno Park Institute in 2020. The first project is to conduct a pilot study to collect genomics and life-log data from wearable device and develop an integrative analysis methods of the multi-dimensional dataset. This grant is collaborating with EDGC  (Eone Diagnomics Genome Center, https://www.edgc.com/eng/) and Inha University hospital. The second project started in July 2020 collaborating with MediAi+ (http://mediaiplus.com/) to develop a NLP to construct a data of the clinical trial terminology in Korean.

The Korean Research Foundation has also awarded a new grant to the University of Utah Asia campus, Department of Biomedical Informatics to support the development of machine learning-based approaches to functionally annotate genetic variants in Alzheimer’s disease. This project will run from June 01, 2020 – Feb 28, 2022. The project PI is Younghee Lee, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics and Education director of BMI, Asia campus. Postdoctoral researcher, Habtamu Minassie Aycheh and new PhD student Seonggyun Han will participate in this research project at the Asia campus.

Dr. Younghee Lee also just received funding for the development of an NLP system to standardize data of the clinical trial terminology in Korean. This project will run from July 01, 2020 to December 31, 2020.
